Art Barter – the brainchild of Lauren Jones and Alix Janta – is an art exhibition for cash-strapped times. Guests are invited to bid for the anonymous artworks in exchange for services or goods, with the winning bidder chosen at the whim of the artists themselves. So the first step is identifying the artist behind the work, and step two is to imagine what they might need in their lives. What a fun game, trying to get into the heads of Tracey Emin, Polly Morgan, Boo Saville, Gavin Turk or Gary Hume. What could they possibly want?
